Well, moving even within the same city could be stressful at times, so imagine what trouble you could face resettling in a new city. Put everything down on paper to get the most hassle free plan. Imagine yourself unpacking at the new house – ask yourself - what are the items you would want to unload first when you get there. These are the items that you would want to pack the last.  Many people prefer to just sell all their belongings maybe with a garage sale, before they move. This saves them the transport money and stress, while they are free to purchase new belongings in the new city. It’s a great idea, if you do not have very expensive furniture that would sell for a huge loss at a garage sale.
 
If you are wondering where to start with your packing, then start with the unused or seasonal clothes. You won’t need them suddenly in any case, and once you have a few bags packed you will find the motivation to complete the rest. Then you would need to make a list of people you need to inform about your new address. This may include friends and relatives, magazine subscriptions and banks and bill payment companies in general. You don’t want your post going to the old address! Remember to keep a separate file for important personal documents like insurance policies and dental records. If you lose these when you resettle, it is very hard to track them back from the original source.

Pets can get upset when they sense you are leaving, thinking you may leave them behind. Collect them later, when you are ready for the drive.
